Pineapples are all the rage this summer. There is not a day that goes by that I’ve not come across one of these sweet treats on Pinterest. The surprising part is that it’s not just in the form of a food or drink recipe. Everywhere you look you can find pineapple jewelry, clothing, totes, wall art, everything home decor, lighting, yard art, card stock and much much more. Today, I am going to combine a simple DIY craft idea with a traditional Piña Colada to make it a one of a kind creative cocktail.
Typically a Piña Colada is served in a hurricane glass, either poured over ice or like this version, blended with ice in a blender to make it a delicious frothy texture. Why not serve your friends an unexpected summer cocktail by scooping out the pineapple from the shell and using this empty vessel to pour the mixed liquid into. Make it extra special by adding a golden touch to the leaves with a quick drying gold spray paint. This is one of three reasons that this cocktail is named Golden Pineapple Piña Colada. This special drink also has Gold Rum in it and the pineapple used as the container is a tropical Gold pineapple. This type of pineapple is perfectly sweet and very aromatic. All of your senses will be stimulated by this beautiful cocktail.

I hope you are inspired by this drink recipe to make your next refreshing Piña Colada a little more Pinteresting. The pineapple is a well known symbol of hospitality, welcome, friendliness and warmth. So what better way to treat yourself and your friends/family, or to make your next party or staycation a little more meaningful then to serve up this yummy drink inside a Gold Pineapple!
